These Donation Terms describe how contributions made through Faxio are processed and used. They apply in addition to our Terms & Conditions and our Refund Policy. By making a donation, you agree to these terms.
1. Donations Are Voluntary
All donations made through Faxio are voluntary contributions to the campaign you select. You are not entitled to any goods, services, or ownership interest in exchange for a donation, and donations do not create a legal obligation on the part of a beneficiary or campaign creator beyond the stated purpose of the campaign.
2. Demo Payment Flow
This is a demonstration project. The checkout flow on this Site is a placeholder that simulates the experience of making a donation. No real payment gateway is connected, and no actual funds are collected, transferred, or held. In a live deployment, this section would describe the licensed payment processor(s) used to handle real transactions.
3. Tax Receipts
This section is placeholder text. Whether a donation is tax-deductible depends entirely on the donating organization's actual registration status (for example, as a registered charitable or nonprofit entity under applicable law). This demo does not claim any such registration, and no tax receipts are issued through this Site. A live deployment would need to clearly state the organization's registration details and the process for issuing valid tax receipts, if applicable.
4. How Donation Amounts Are Used
Donations to a campaign are intended to go toward the stated need described in that campaign — for example, medical treatment, emergency relief, education, or other verified causes. Campaigns undergo a review process described in our Campaign Guidelines before publication. In a live deployment, this section would also describe any platform fee retained to cover payment processing and operating costs.
5. Fully Funded and Under-Funded Campaigns
The following is a general, placeholder policy and not a binding commitment for real-world use:
- If a campaign is fully funded: Additional donations received after a campaign reaches its goal may be redirected to similar campaigns or causes, at the platform's discretion, or refunded in accordance with our Refund Policy.
- If a campaign does not reach its goal: Funds raised may still be disbursed toward the stated need where reasonably possible, redirected to a similar cause, or handled according to our Refund Policy, depending on the circumstances.
6. Donor Responsibilities
You are responsible for providing accurate payment and contact information and for ensuring you are authorized to use the payment method provided. You must be at least 18 years of age, or donate with the involvement of a parent or guardian, to make a donation.
7. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Donation Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
